The zizyphus fruit contains fatty acids, such as oleic acid and linoleic acid, fiber such as pectin, vitamin C, B vitamins, and minerals which are essential for normal health of nerves and is therefore helpful in peripheral neuropathy which causes heat sensation in hands and feats. The anti-inflammatory effects of zizyphus may be related to the triterpene acids. Research suggests that inhibition of nitric oxide synthase may play a role it also inhibits levels of inflammatory cytokines. |
